"The Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez, is a graduate department with M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Biological, Chemical, Physical and Geological Oceanography. A Ph.D. degree is required, and since English and Spanish are the official languages, knowledge of both languages is desirable. We are open to a broad range of specialties, but are particularly interested in candidates with a background in Carbonate Geochemistry, Biogeochemistry, Chemical Ecology, Natural Products Chemistry, and/or Marine Pollution, and with a good record of research, teaching and publications in peer-reviewed journals. The selected applicant should have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to take advantage of the Magueyes Island Marine Laboratory’s unique location, with easy access to all tropical coastal marine communities, mesophoitic communities, and deep-water environments.
